Courageous Conversations

  • Our Savior's Lutheran Church 1616 Olive Street West Stillwater, MN, 55082 United States (map)

Talking about death and dying is often considered a difficult and uncomfortable topic, leading to avoidance in our culture. However, this avoidance can have profound consequences for ourselves and our loved ones. In this workshop, we aim to break this societal norm and empower participants to engage in open discussions about their values, wishes, and goals for their health care, as well as their end-of-life preferences. A safe and supportive environment is created for attendees to explore essential reflections using prompts. Guidance on how to have these courageous conversations with loved ones and medical teams is provided along with a handout filled with reflective prompts and questions. We firmly believe that proactive communication is the key to not only ensuring your end-of-life wishes are honored but reduces the burden on those you are closest to.
